The facts about the Royse City ISD bond referendum.
Developed by a diverse group of citizens from across our community, the Royse City ISD bond package is a $60 million plan to manage the fast growth of our student population – our district is expected to grow by 4,300 children over the next decade.
The bond package will include:
- A new 1,000 student middle school in Fate – one of the fastest growing areas of the district. This new middle school and our current middle school will serve 6th through 8th grade students, which will allow our elementary schools to serve pre-k through the 5th grade. This new configuration also will allow Herndon and Cherry intermediate schools to become elementary schools, and cost less money than building new elementary schools.
- The expansion of the band hall at Royse City High School to assist with the growing student involvement in our award winning musical offerings.
- Improvements at Royse City Middle School including new paint and flooring, restroom renovations, sidewalk paving, security upgrades and renovations to the cafeteria and library.
With voter approval, there will be no property tax rate increase. There is no anticipated increase to the interest and sinking tax rate assuming continuation of current conditions and future housing and business growth in the district.
